Sweden’s SIS Declares OOXML Vote Invalid

The Swedish SIS has declared it’s vote on OOXML invalid! It appears that the continued stream of complaints, news coverage and blogs reporting Microsoft’s attempt at purchasing OOXML votes has forced Microsoft to come clean and the SIS in response changed it’s vote from Yes to Abstain.

It appears that Microsoft is just buying the OOXML ISO certification!
All around the world people are reporting ridiculous, shaming and plain disgusting tactics used by Microsoft and it’s partners. Here are a couple examples of the strategy employed by OOXML backers to get it approved.

HP releases its first mass-market Linux PC

Rob Kingston, the group manager of HP Australia’s Personal Systems Group, says that HP is working with Red Hat to bring a new Linux desktop to SMB’s in Australia!
HP will be selling it’s HP Compaq dx2250 desktop computer preloaded with Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

The Italian OSSBlog has an interview with Matt Zimmerman, Ubuntu developer. In the interview Matt talks about Ubuntu Mobile and says that we can see Ubuntu Mobile powered devices next year!
