Doing my job the opensource way

Posted by Michael Anckaert in Uncategorized 1 comment

Today I did my job the opensource way. Last week I blogged about our neglected backup servers that weren’t doing anything. For about a month I haven’t been doing much more than trying to get them running again, today still no success.
So today I gave up. Screw the freaking DC Protect XA backup software! Screw [...]

Italy to restrict bloggin

Posted by Michael Anckaert in News No comments

A report on an Italian blog informs us about a new law that could pass in Italy that will require all bloggers to register their blogs or website, produce certificates, pay a tax and have a ‘responsible director’. Looks like the end of Free Speech in Italy…

Posted by Michael Anckaert in Uncategorized 2 comments

The new members that [...]

Ballmer to Red Hat customers: pay up

Posted by Michael Anckaert in News No comments

Looks like Steve Ballmer is at it again. This time he’s focusing on Red Hat, saying that it’s about time that people using Red Hat start paying for “Microsoft’s Intellectual Property”.
Seriously am I the only person that’s pissed of because people think they can patent information or methods of doing something?
According to Wikipedia, a patent [...]

MS Exchange or IBM Lotus Domino?

Posted by Michael Anckaert in Uncategorized 1 comment

I think we all know the answer to that question. No need to list the pro’s and cons here, we know it will just turn out in IBM’s favor. But trying to win over management and one of co workers is much harder. That’s why I’ve been spending the better part of the day finding [...]
