Microsoft to OpenSource parts of Silverlight

According to this article at www.techworld.com, Microsoft will be releasing parts of it’s upcoming Silverlight technology as open source.
A move that is no doubt made in response to Adobe’s opensourcing of the Flex SDK, Microsoft hopes to attract more developers for Silverlight this way.

Adobe to open-source Flash tool Flex

News.com reports that Adobe is planning to open-source the Flash tool Flex next Wednesday.
Just like the ActionScript virtual machine, Flex will be released under the Mozilla Public License. Are my predictions comming true? Is this the start of open-source Flash?

When talking to people about Free Software, the discussion always leads to a point where I’m trying to convince the person I’m talking to that Open Source software is better for a business than proprietary software.
